Merit cum Means Scholarship 2014-2015 for Students of Minority Communities
We feel proud to announce that every year 20,000 scholarships are distributed among the students of minority communities throughout the country via Merit cum means based scholarships scheme. This fellowship is based on the population of each state of these communities.
Details of Merit cum Means Scholarship:
• According to this scheme some financial assistance are provided to the candidates to pursue degree and/or postgraduate level for technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. Allowance for maintenance allowance is also granted to the successful students.
• The fees for the course are paid by the State Department directly to the institute concerned.
• Only the students who get the opportunity to get admission in a college to pursue technical/professional courses on the basis of a competitive examination are eligible for this scholarship.
• In Some exceptional cases where students who get admission in technical/professional courses without facing any competitive examination and also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level.
• The candidates are selected strictly on merit basis.
• The scholarship is continued only if the student successfully completes the subsequent year of the course during the preceding year.
• Please note that any scholarship holder under this scheme cannot avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
• Also the annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.
