Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship 2014-15 Application Form for SC & ST Candidates
The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) Scheme for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is an initiative taken for the Government and funded by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The scheme is announced to aid all the candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe and wish to pursue higher studies such as regular and full time MPhil and PhD degrees. Under this scheme there are 2000 slots for Scheduled Caste and 667 slots for Scheduled Tribe candidates every year for all the subjects.
Details of UGC RGNF Scholarship:
• Scholarship is granted to candidates to pursue M.Phil. and PhD degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
• For the Physically Handicapped SC/ST candidates as per provision laid down by the Govt. of India 3% fellowships are reserved.
Eligibility Criteria:
• This scheme is applicable to the candidates who belong to SC/ST and holds the Post Graduate degree.
• The candidates are selected on merit basis only.
• The candidates must get themselves registered for M.Phil./PhD at the earliest but not later than a period of two years from the receipt of fellowship letter.
• The period of fellowship is not extendable. Whereas, the actual payment of fellowship is done only from the date of joining the course.
