UPSC Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Exam 2014 Notification www.upsc.gov.in
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the recruitment of Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist examination for 265 positions whose details are mentioned below. Applicants are encouraged to apply between the 01st of March 2014 and the 31st of March 2014 by 11:59 pm. • Category 1: Vacancies at Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines
a. Geologist: 260 Vacancies,

• Category 2: Vacancies in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources.
• Category 2: Vacancies in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources.
a. Geo-Scientist: 05 Vacancies
b. Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) Group A: 05 Vacancies
Academic Qualifications –
• Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized institution - For Geologist Vacancies
• Applicants should have an M.Sc in Physics or Applied Physics or an M.Sc in Geophysics - For Geophysicist Vacancies
• Applicants should have an M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry - For Chemist Vacancies
• Applicants should have a Master’s in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology - For Junior Hydro-geologist Posts
Age group -
• Applicants should be between 21 and 32 years old as on 01st of August 2014 - For Geologist vacancies
• Applicants should be between 21 and 35 years old as on 01st of August 2014 - For Geo-Scientist vacancies
• Relaxation in terms of Age Limit is applicable to SC/ ST/ OBC/ EXS/ Departmental personnel
Fees for the Application Form –
• No fees for SC/ ST/ PH/ Female applicants
• Other applicants to pay - Rs.200/- at SBI in cash or by Net-banking through SBI or State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur or State Bank of Hyderabad or Mysore or Patiala or Travancore
Process of Selection: Applicants are selected on the basis of their written and interview or personality test
Application Procedure:
• Go online www.upsconline.nic.in and apply between the 01st and 31st of March 2014 by 11:59 pm
Online Instructions:
• Go to www.upsconline.nic.in and fill in the application form on the UPSC Portal.
• After making the payment, kindly retain the receipt for future use
• Applicants must have their signature and photograph scanned and saved in .jpg format
• Once the application is duly filled, please print out the same.
• The print out along with the educational and other documents should be ready should the candidate be shortlisted.
