Formerly known as Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Pillaiyarkuppam was established in the year 2001. It was deemed a University in the year 2008. The motto of the university is “Let Well Being Prevail.” Prof. Dr.K.R.Sethu Raman is the present Vice Chancellor.

SBVU Pondicherry offers various graduate and post graduate courses in Medicine, Sciences, Dentistry and Nursing. Internships and placement cell offers students career growth opportunities.
