University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is proposing for the President’s Scholarship for international students who want to pursue masters in research and doctoral programs. For year 2014 the amount of the scholarship would be A $25,392 per annum and will be indexed annually. The UTSP scholarship will not be transferable to another institution. Scholarship will be offered for two years for Research Master’s degree or for three years for Research Doctorate degree. Applications should be submitted till 20th August 2014.

Scholarship Validity:
• Duration of President’s Scholarship is of two years for a Research Master’s degree and three years for a Research Doctorate degree.
Who can apply?
• The scholar should be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 and should be a holder of an international student visa.
• University may also consider students who have commenced their HDR in the previous year.

Process of Selection:
• UTSP is awarded in the accordance with the eligibility requirements mentioned in notification
• The selection can also be based on competitive basis using the respective Faculty/Institute’s scoring system which includes merit of applicant, research and relevant experience, publications records as well as relevance of the proposed research to the University’s research strengths.
Scholarship Details:
The UTS President’s scholarship (UTSP) is provided by the University to international students who demonstrate exceptional research potential. It covers general living expenses for a period of two years for a Research Master’s degree or three years for a Research Doctorate degree. Application Procedure:
• For prospective students you have to submit the UTS International Higher Degree Research Application Form for both the degree and scholarship
• For currently enrolled research students you have to submit the completed HDR scholarship application form with a CV.
