Formed by the RBI Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research is an advanced educational academy, established in 1987. The main aim of IGIDR is to promote and conduct research on developmental issues from a broad inter- disciplinary perspective (economic, technological, social, political and ecological). Prof. S. Mahendra Dev is the present Director.IGIDR Mumbai offers post graduate and research programs in Economics and Development Studies. The main feature of the academic program is the workshops and seminars. They tend to give maximum exposure to the students.
